In 1940, Nachos originated when Ignacio Anaya, nicknamed Nacho, improvised a quick appetizer for a group of ladies who arrived unexpectedly at the Victory Club in Piedras, Texas, Using available ingredients, he created a dish loved by the patrons so much, that they playfully named it Nacho’s special.
